Chuckwagon Slaw
Ingredients:

3 c. shredded cabbage
carrots, shredded
green onions, thinly sliced with most green end remaining
| ½ green bell pepper, finely diced
teaspoon ground celery seed
3 tablespoons white vinegar (or try cider vinegar for a different twist)
tablespoons mild to medium picante sauce
teaspoon sugar
dash of white pepper
dash of salt, optional

Directions:
Combine cabbage, carrots, onions and bell pepper in large bowl. To make dressing, combine the ground celery seed, vinegar, picante sauce, sugar, pepper, and salt, if used, in small bowl. Mix until sugar is dissolved. Pour dressing over cabbage mixture and toss until well coated. Cover and store in refrigerator for at least four hours before serving.

Yield: 6 2/3-cup servings
