Friendly Fast Foods

Some tips for eating out on-the-go

  • Choose small-size sandwiches and hamburgers.
  • Don't choose the double meat and bacon burgers.  You are definitely receiving 2-3 ounces of meat with a single patty!
  • Eat you hamburger or sandwich open-faced.  You will be eliminating unnecessary calories by eating half the bun.
  • Ask for a wheat bun, if available.
  • Choose chicken, turkey, and ham. They are the leanest cuts of meat.
  • Hold the mayo.
  • Skip the sides.  If you do want a side, order a side salad or a fruit cup.
  • If you are craving french fries, get a "kid’s meal" size.
  • Get a diet drink, a small juice, or low-fat milk. Water is always the best choice.
  • Skip the deep-fried foods. Even deep-fried chicken or fish can have more calories than a greasy hamburger patty!
  • Never, Never, Never Super-Size!!!!!
